The Aklan State University Research and Development Services, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry Region VI, has launched HiblaTek, a mobile application designed to accurately count the warp and weft of natural fibers using image recognition technology.

In weaving, warp refers to the stationary lengthwise threads, while weft consists of the crosswise threads interlaced to create fabric. This innovative mobile application enhances efficiency and precision in fabric measurement, supporting local weavers and textile producers. By automating the thread-counting process, HiblaTek simplifies their work, allowing them to focus more on production.
